Classic & Sports Car Show
As usual we were there on the Friday afternoon to set up and get the stand ready; thank you to those that turned up to help on Friday. Well, we had everything just about set up by 9pm and could settle down to the real business of the weekend (getting as lubricated as possible and still be able to polish the car). Saturday morning arrived and with it 27 very good examples of Mk1's, 2's and 3's. Prizes for Saturday were MK1s - 3rd D 970 DAJ, 2nd JMR 216 V and 1st B 4 NME (Iain also won best MR2 at show given by the Organisers) MK2's - 3rd L 112 LYG, 2nd L 227 NUD and 1st N 517 TBO MK3's - 2nd R 7 CHM and 1st L 13 PWJ. After most had gone home on the Saturday we started the party going. There were more people stopping over this year than any I remember, 14 in total and some of us (you know who you are) were in such a state of laughter by two in the morning, from stories of Duncan's adventures, that we very nearly called for a paramedic to put their ribs back in place.
MK1's - 3rd B 55 WNB, 2nd G 689 NAM and 1st G 860 CLJ MK2's - 3rd H 6 BRG, 2nd GAZ 810 and 1st MR2 (Jame's false plate) MK3's - 2nd MK 51 YWT and 1st ELZ 123 There was also a special trophy given to the best engine bay - this was donated by the classic caravan club and was won by Paul Winkley. As for stand trophies, Saturday's first place went to the Mk1 Owners Club (congratulations - not bad for only your second year there) and on Sunday second place went to the Italian Replica Club (MR2's in Ferrari clothes), while we won first place.
